Following this approach has influenced early childhood education practices around the world and continues to inspire educators. 

The Reggio Emilia approach is an innovative educational philosophy and approach to early childhood education that originated in the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy after World War II. Developed by educator Loris Malaguzzi and parents in the community, this approach is centered around the belief that children are capable, resourceful, and active participants in their own learning process.
